HomeBase is BronxWorks' shelter prevention program for residents of Bronx Community Districts 1 and 4.  It is designed to help individuals and families avoid the trauma of homelessness by helping overcome the immediate problems and obstacles that could result in the loss of housing.  Program services are crafted to meet the unique needs of each individual or family and to help meet the demands of maintaining a household.

When you come to the HomeBase office, you will be assigned a case manager who will coordinate all services.  Some of these services will be provided directly through HomeBase and others will be provided by our community partners. Services that are available to qualified households include:

  • Family mediation
  • Landlord mediation
  • Household budgeting skills
  • Legal services
  • Short-term financial assistance
  • Mental health and substance abuse services
  • Household repairs
  • Entitlements
  • Child Care
  • Education
  • Employment

To find out if you live in Community District 1 or 4, see the maps here and here, or call 311.  If you do not live in Community District 1 or 4, you may still be helped by our other eviction prevention programs.
