There are now two ways to get fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables at BronxWorks…

The Heights Community Farmers Market is back in operation in the Morris Heights neighborhood.  It is open every Thursday through November from 9 am to 3 pm.  The market is located at University Avenue and West 181st Street, on the corner of the Aqueduct Walk, right across from the main gate of Bronx Community College.

GrowNYC’s Fresh Food Box Program lets you purchase a box of fresh, healthy, locally-grown produce for only $10.  Each pre-packed box contains 8-10 seasonal fruits and vegetables, the best of what’s available on regional farms, along with information on how to store and prepare the produce.

The Fresh Food Box Program is located at the BronxWorks Community Center at 1130 Grand Concourse (beside Bronx Housing Court) on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6:30.  You pay one week in advance for the box you will pick up the following Wednesday.  Only sign up for the weeks you want.

The Heights Community Farmers Market and Fresh Food Box Program both accept cash, credit/debit, and EBT/SNAP benefits.
