Seniors at the BronxWorks East Concourse Neighborhood Senior Center showed they have an eye for composition when they toured the neighborhood with a camera, using new skills they were taught.  Selected prints from the photos they took were on display at a reception on Thursday, November 20th, from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the center, located at 236 East Tremont Avenue, between Grand Concourse and Monroe Avenue.  The exhibit was made possible as a result of support from the Bronx River Arts Center.

Photos that were on show were the work of 19 seniors from the neighborhood who took a 10-week photography course at the center, selecting from two summer sessions. The Bronx River Arts Center provided digital cameras to the students. Both sessions were taught by Ms. Tertu Uibottu, a photographer from the Bronx River Arts Center.

The training was made possible by funds provided the office of Councilman Fernando Cabrera and the New York City Department for the Aging.
