Adolescent Development Programs

Based at the BronxWorks Community Center, our Adolescent Development Programs provide teenagers with important life skills, promoting academic achievement, career exploration, and exposure to the arts.

Safe Passage works with 13 to 15 year-olds to ensure a smooth transition from middle school to high school. It operates after-school and during the summer. This program offers academic assistance, counseling, skills building, leadership development, technology training, community service, work readiness, and recreation.

The Academic and Career Enrichment (ACE) program works year-round with teens between the ages of 15 and 18. It provides academic assistance, career exploration, internships and employment opportunities, college preparation, and recreational activities.

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) places 400 youth, ages 14 to 21, in summer employment for six weeks.  Work applications are available from the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development at www.nyc.gov/dycd.
